Biography
Ms. Hammond is a native of Louisville. She graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri with majors in Sociology and Spanish. She spent her junior year abroad in Madrid, Spain. Ms. Hammond received a Master of Arts in Foreign Language Education in 1979 from the University of Louisville prior to graduating from law school. She has extensive experience representing clients in Family Law matters including child custody disputes, juvenile court matters, divorce litigation, adoptions and co-parenting matters. She has served as a Guardian Ad Litem in Jefferson Family Court for twenty years, representing child who have been abused and neglected
Ms. Hammond is a certified Family Court Mediator where she mediates all types of family court issues and disputes.
In addition, she is a court-approved Parent Coordinator who is appointed in high-conflict divorce cases to address parenting concerns such as timesharing, education for the children, participation in extracurricular activities and creating co-parenting tools.
Ms. Hammond is also an influential civic leader. She has been a Trustee of the Board of Directors of Key One Healthcare and Jewish Hospital and St. Mary’s Healthcare. She has served as past chair of the Board of Trustees of the Jewish Heritage Fund for Excellence, a Kentucky Foundation with $250,000,000.00 of assets.
In addition to her Family Law focus, Ms. Hammond's practice includes estate planning and probate matters.
Ms. Hammond is married, has two adult children and two grandchildren.
