Biography
Caitlin P. Kidd (Caitlin Kidd-Leonard) joined the firm in December 2025. She grew up in Floyd County in Eastern Kentucky and moved to Louisville for her undergraduate studies at the University of Louisville’s Business school, focusing on Marketing and Management. She fell in love with the city, making it her home, and continued her studies at the Brandeis School of Law where she graduated with honors in her class.
During law school, Caitlin held many leadership roles, including Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Animal and Environmental Law and the Vice President of the Appalachian Law Caucus. She also met her husband, Tom Leonard, in law school, and they reside in Louisville with their tri-colored corgi, Stevie (named after Caitlin’s favorite artist, Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac).
Her law practice primarily focuses on estate planning, probate, adult and minor guardianships, and domestic relations matters in Kentuckiana (including, but not limited to, custody, divorces, support, and adoptions). She was admitted to the Kentucky bar in 2020 and the Indiana bar shortly thereafter in 2021.
Caitlin has been recognized as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers and was named as “20 People to Know in Law” by Louisville Business First. She brings empathy and compassion to her work, which is a lost practice at times in the law. Caitlin ensures that her clients are heard, seen, and appreciated during their representation.
In her free time, Caitlin enjoys cycling, watching cooking and reality competition shows, listening to music, and spending time with Tom, Stevie, and her friends and family. She avidly cheers on the UofL Cards, the Cleveland Browns, and the Cincinnati Reds.
